Maluski Jr. & Sr. · The founders
Our story
A father, a son, and one truck.
In 2010, Nowell Maluski Sr. and Nowell Maluski Jr. started SpaceMan Moving Co. with a simple idea: moving in Austin should feel like getting help from people you trust, not a transaction with a faceless van line.
Fifteen years later, that's still how it works. We're based right off South Lamar in the heart of 78704, our trucks are the ones you've seen around town, and the people who answer the phone are the same people who show up on moving day.
We're licensed, bonded, and insured, and we've built our entire reputation one careful move at a time. Most of our work still comes the old-fashioned way: a neighbor told a neighbor.
What Austin says
5.0 stars, earned the right way.
"They moved my entire apartment, next day, in 2 hours. They shrink-wrapped my furniture to make sure nothing got damaged, and listened to my requests. I was so impressed. Definitely use this service!"
Google review"The movers arrived promptly, they were a bit early, even, were careful and efficient, and managed to tetris it all extremely well into the storage unit while taking care with the glass and delicate items."
Google review"They made space in their schedule to move my son and his wife after an emergency exit from his apartment during the Feb 2021 arctic blast. Very responsive, all-inclusive pricing, courteous and careful. Will refer family & friends!"

Questions everyone asks
How do you price a move?
Local moves are priced by the hour with the crew and truck included, and we're upfront about the rate before we book anything. Long-distance moves get a flat, all-in quote based on what you're moving and where it's going. Either way, the number we give you is the number you pay, no fuel surcharges or mystery fees at the end.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes, SpaceMan Moving Co. is fully licensed, bonded, and insured, and registered with the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT #2176203). It's printed right on the truck.
How far in advance should I book?
A week or two of notice is ideal, especially for end-of-month dates, which fill up first. That said, we're known for making room, we've pulled off plenty of next-day moves. If you're in a pinch, call us before you assume it's impossible.
Do you handle packing?
We can. Most customers pack their own boxes and have us wrap and protect the furniture, that's included on every job. If you want full packing help, just tell us when you call and we'll plan for it.
What makes you different from a big van line?
With a van line or a broker, your belongings often change trucks and crews at a warehouse somewhere in between. With us, the truck that pulls up at your old place is the truck that pulls up at your new one, and the owners are involved in every move. That's been the whole idea since 2010.
